This year we are psyched to have Devo, The Dropkick Murphys, The Butthole Surfers, The Hold Steady, Less than Jake, and Goldfinger headlining our main stages this year. Each brings something wonderful to teach our students about how the professionals do it.
Just as Devo and The Surfers were instrumental in shaping my appreciation and conception of music, The Dropkick Murphys, Hold Steady, and Less than Jake, represent the formative years to our students.
Filling out the stages for the weekend are dozens of bands with some connection to our schools, being either comprised of students, teachers, or friends of the program.
Also, SHRED CONTEST is back again!
The sacred art of SHRED challenges the participant to forgo all sense of melody or subtlety and instead concentrate on producing as many notes per second (NPS) as humanly possible. Contestants in our second annual shred contest will attempt to wow their music nerd brethren while at the same time scaring off any and all female admirers in the audience.
