Born into a musical family, Greg Soundz's gift for music was virtually predestined. His father is a multi-instrumentalist who worked with the Commodores in their early days at Tuskegee Institute and wrote and produced an album for their local church choir when Greg was a kid. His father's love for all types of music and ability as a songwriter have been huge influences on Greg's instrument of choice, the keyboard and his decision to become a singer/songwriter/producer.
Whether social, political, spiritual or sexual there's always a message in the music of Greg Soundz. Indeed he always seeks to entertain but in the process he leaves gems of wisdom that leaves the listener encouraged, enlightened, and challenged. Over the years Greg Soundz has become a respected favorite on NYC's underground circuit and audiences at Soul Cafe, SOB's, Downtime, Cheetah, and The Remote Lounge have all been thankful for the message.
The message of Greg Soundz has given him the nickname of "The Prophet": one who speaks out, one who encourages, one who laments, and one who gives hope. All of these elements can be found in the songs on Greg's limited release, "Ready To Die: Birth of a Soul Singer".
Currently Soundz is hard at work on his next project "Sophia's Lover" which explores his journey of self-realization and a quest for love.
