KEOLA O KE KAI CANOE CLUB WAS FOUNDED ON OCTOBER 10, 2001 BY GINO AND JEN! THE SOLE PURPOSE FOR KEOLA WAS TO PERPETUATE THE HAWAIIAN CULTURE OF CANOE PADDLING AND PASS IT ON TO OUR YOUTH. KEOLA O KE KAI IS CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF OHCRA (OAHU HAWAIIAN CANOE RACING ASSOCIATION) AND HAS BEEN A MEMBER SINCE 2005! WE RACE OUR REGATTA SEASON WITH OUR VERY OWN KOA CANOE, THE KAWELE'A, SHE IS OUR CLUBS PRIDE AND JOY. OUR CLUB ALSO OWNS 6 FIBERGLASS CANOES. WE ARE LOCATED AT KE'EHI LAGOON, OFF OF LAGOON DRIVE NEAR THE AIRPORT, AT THE END OF THE BEACH, SO YOU SHOULD STOP BY AND CHECK US OUT. DURING THE WINTER SEASON, KEOLA O KE KAI SPONSORS RADFORD HIGH SCHOOL (HOME OF THE RAMS!). RADFORD'S VARSITY BOYS WERE WEST DIVISION CHAMPS BACK TO BACK 2006 AND 2007, AND THE 2007 VARSITY BOYS WENT UNDEFEATED THROUGH THE REGULAR SEASON AND RANKED 11TH PLACE OVERALL IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. OUR MIXED VARSITY CREW ALSO CLINCHED THE TITLE OF WEST DIVISION CHAMPS IN 2007, AND TOOK SECOND IN THE WEST DIVISION DURING 2006. OUR JV PROGRAM IS TOP THREE IN BOYS, GIRLS, AND MIXED DIVISIONS! Okay thats good. But i was really sad and kinda crying too, when he told me i couldnt paddle,c ause i already fell in love with it, its just i hadnt been doing my chores and helping out my mom. But really? What were the plans :D
Oh sorry Jen. And no i cant anymore cause my dad doesnt want me to paddle anymore cause im slacking off on something. And plus i wasnt able to sell all of my tickets too. But im really sorry i never told you, i was kinda scared to say it thats why
i know jen =[ but i'm gonna find it hard to juggle paddling, and trips i'm taking to visit family in the states, and i don't wanna let down a crew, not again, but i'll come to visit every race, when i can, i can't stay away from you guys =]
