All four members of Soulbank are from Northeastern Kentucky. Jason "Wallace" Waddell (guitar) and Jim Tackett (drums) started playing local venues in Northern California in 2002 playing accoustic guitar duo sets. Waddell has been playing since his pre-teen years and grew up being influenced by such blues greats as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Eric Johnson, and Eric Clapton to name a few. Latter day influences for Waddell come from guitar greats Joe Bonamassa, Trey Anastasio, and Warren Haynes. Although picking the brains of such a class of guitar heroes over the years, Waddell has a voice all his own which is clearly evident when hearing him perform. After moving back to Kentucky, Waddell and Tackett concentrated on putting all the pieces together to form a full band. Trey Hensley, a life-long friend and gifted bass player, joined the band in 2003. Hensley's precision and knack for improvisational music made him the perfect fit for the group as a bassist. The band has had it's fair share of recruits at the vocal position. Recently, the band has picked up a female vocalist, Celest Reed. Reed has a reputation for her bold voice not to mention stage presence- captivating audiences with beautiful lyrical melodies and performing with an energy that seems to be channeled through Janis Joplin herself. Jim Tackett set his sights on the drums when adding Hensley to the mix and has filled that role most comfortably during the construction of Soulbank. Though being together since just August of '05, the band is in full swing and ready to perform at the drop of a hat.
