About Soul Cal Records...
Soul Cal Records was founded in 2003 as yet another subsidiary of Peanut Butter Wolf's Stones Throw Records. Wolf joined forces with label manager and fellow crate digger, Egon, to reissue the finest gems of undiscovered raw disco and funky soul from the late '70s and early '80s.
Based in Southern California, Soul Cal releases music on "Special Pour Disco" vinyl 12-inch Giant Singles. Later this year, we will put out a CD compilation of the best of Soul Cal, for all those who missed out on the now hard-to-find early singles. Our titles can be purchased at fine record stores, including online retailers such as fatbeats.com, dustygroove.com and turntablelab.com.
