Soul Camp is a three day camp out for the people by the people. Deejays and musicians from all over California will be bringing old, new, innovative, and intellectual sounds to the wilderness. Soul Camp is driven by the soul, along side genuine people from all walks of life who possess the same passions. Here you will be driven by the spirit and will be able to be yourself. Understand that everyone’s main goal is to be happy, have fun, meet people, have heart to hearts, dance, make memories, and live drama and argument free. If you are receiving this advertisement YOU are considered a friend, and we ask that you don't spread this information to anyone that you would not perceive to fit in with the likes of our purpose. So peace, love, unity and welcome to Soul Camp!
Who I'd like to meet: Soul Camp...family, music, friends, positivity, enlightenment, energy, nature. The goal of the festivity is to bring all of these key elements together for the ultimate in distraction from everyday burden. What began as an intimate gathering of close friends in May of 2004, sharing a love for true house music, and what was intended as a casual campout, Soul Camp thrived into a semi-annual event that has grown by the hundreds since our first trek into the woods. After stumbling upon a great idea, the founder decided it would have to be re-visited. With much planning, Sacramento native, and Bay Area transplant, TeeJay Walton has meticulated a well organized event that includes outstanding soulful house music resident DJ's within his San Francisco collective, The SoulMates and various guests ranging from live band performances, vocalists and magical talents. At the eve of summer and with the close of the season, we strive to attain our one goal: To enjoy our environment, learn, love, live and grow together, as friends, as family - closer. Soul Camp is a not for profit event and all efforts and talent are donated to operate this event. Featuring fully permitted camping areas deep within the California wilderness, portable facilities, premium sound, lighting, dancefloor, first aid and other amenities for campers to enjoy. A tremendous effort is necessary to realize this event and all funds are used strictly for the production, materials and other required provisions. ---------------
Previous acts and DJ's have included an array of genres ranging from Soulful house and varying styles to hip hop, vocalists and full bands incorporating jazz, funk, salsa reggae and other varying fusions.

Soul Camp is for the people, by the people and its fruition is the enjoyment of attendees year after year. Please join us and bring the utmost of positivity, respect and open minds to share in this
celebration. Absolutely No Shadyness.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please visit our website: wwww.soulcampout.net

The UFO, supporters of The Other Room, hosted a special "People Painting" during The City Wakes: a blank canvas available for visitors to "offer their love and creativity to Mr. Barrett". Everyone had the opportunity to express themselves.
The Result: Group creations that nobody could predict. Participation was essential. Just like a Happening which includes the audience, the People Paintings are a pleasant artifact left by the people who were there, part of a fantastic evening.
In Roger Keith 'Syd' Barrett’s spirit, seven paintings were produced, each one an artistic thumb print impression of each of The City Wakes events.
Each painting is totally original and includes a certificate of authenticity, along with the signatures of each of the artists who participated in their creation.
