-Justin
About me: SoulEscape is the vision of internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Justin Giles. Justin's work can be seen on companies spanning the globe. His talents were sought after by the Poz Dance Theatre in Seoul, Korea. There he performed and was invited to teach master classes to the company dancers. Commercially, Justin's choreography has been featured by contestants on the hit show "So You Think You Can Dance". Recently, Justin worked as a guest choreographer for the new and upcoming professional company "Evolution", directed by Mark Meismer. Justin is now touring as a faculty member with NUVO and makes frequent stops at studios across the nation. He is also the director of the SoulEscape the intensive, which will premier in the summer of 2008 in Dallas, TX. SoulEscape, the intensive will feature dancers from all over the U.S. that were handpicked to perform works created by Justin and other mainstream choreographers. There the artists will be given the opportunity to experience dance in a professional atmosphere.
Who I'd like to meet: "I created SoulEscape as an outlet for young artists to experience the raw emotional element of concert dance. Only when the artists allow themselves to be vulnerable do they open the door for the audience to experience SoulEscape on a personal level, rather than as a spectator. The message I want to give the dancers is that it's not all about the final product, it's about the process. Individual growth comes from the CHOICES we make both onstage and off. The struggle is the fun part! But struggling as a team is a lot easier than struggling as an individual. And that's what SoulEscape's all about...unity."
