.soulger. had way too many influences to list here. You could say that they were influenced by pretty much any band that made good music and didn't compromise.
This site is dedicated to a Christian rock band that was devoted to making great music that not only made you move, but made you look deep inside yourself. .soulger. was formed in a small town in southeast Oklahoma and existed officially for only a short time from mid 2000 until the band's breakup in late 2004. The members consisted of songwriter/vocalist Janet Farris, vocalist/guitarist bOoGiE aka. Terry Farris II (myspace.com/terryandrachel), drummer/percussionist Joe aka. Jordan Farris (myspace.com/clutchfelt), and live bassist Fowl aka. Jason Harrison. The band was only able to record one demo EP (publicly unreleased) and one full length album (see left sidebar for purchase information) entitled "Rescue Me" released in 2003. Rescue Me was the beginning of a musical evolution for .soulger. which led them from their acoustic based sound heard on the album to a much heavier, tighter, rock driven sound heard only at live gigs around the state (and few limited copies of rough demo recordings). "Rescue Me" has received numerous outstanding reviews including those from leading reps at Taxi, the world's largest independent A&R company, who gave "Rescue Me" 7 stars out of 10 for overall performance and production. That is very impressive considering the album was produced on a very limited budget by the band themselves in their home studio. .soulger. has performed alongside the likes of Salvador, Big Dismal (R.I.P.), Seventh Day Slumber, Emcee One, Tree 63, KJ-52, and many more. This site is also part of an experiment that needs your help. Countless "Rescue Me" CD's are being distributed in various places across the state of Oklahoma free of charge. The only thing that is requested in exchange is that the listener come here an leave a comment or two about the music. If you came here based on the CD, please let us know what you think by leaving a comment or feel free to send an email to soulgermusic@yahoo.com. If you just heard the songs posted here, please let us know what you think as well. Everyone is appreciated for their time and thoughts.
UPDATE:
Two of the former members of .soulger. have formed a new band called The Runwayexit. Click below to check them out or go to myspace.com/therunwayexit.

Excellent CD and excellent packaging. I bought this CD for a 15 year old teenager with a lot of emotional turmoil. She loved it and I hope it gives her peace. Thank you all! Lynn Coates

In a wasteland of over-produced, over-processed, densely synthesized, multi-tracked bombast, .soulger. has created a refreshing oasis of appealing music and inspiring lyrics. k2yk
Soulger ... Yo what up?!? Tired of 90% of the junk on the radio? You can now hear our killer mix of Funk-Rock Hip-Hop online. It's funky fun like Outkast Chili Peppers on serious energy like Rage and 30 Seconds to Mars ... but clearly NOT rehashed disco funk or anger rap metal. The answer to “Who’s your Daddy?” combined with the love of Yo Mama, critics say Ballistic Groove is the highly acclaimed New Sound you’ve been waiting for! Join the Groove Ballers and check it at MySpace.com/BallisticGroove ... Peace & respect -BG
