About me: Well where do you start with these things, from the beginning is a very good place to start, where have I heard that before!! Well I am now very much the wrong side of 40 and only just about the right side of 50. I have been dj'ing since 1977 when I started doing radio shows on warships as I was in the Royal Navy at the time, (don't even bother with the hello Sailor bit!!). I progressed
on to doing clubs every now and then in between being at sea and so forth. I have always been into soul music even before I knew it was called that. Can remember my first school disco and dancing to Freda Payne's Band Of Gold
and thinking it was the best thing I have ever heard, my tastes have progressed somewhat since then. There is something about this music that touches me like nothing else can. I love to listen to it I and love to play it for others even more. I think there is still a lot of good music around now, and things seem to be getting better again, not that it has ever been bad, you just have to know where to look sometimes. I have met some great people through this music, and I hope it never stops. I have achieved many ambitions, including presenting a soul music show on Radio Victory a few years ago. I am hoping
to achieve more with my show here on JSR, and I hope you will like what I do. There have been many people who have influenced me DJ wise, and nobody has impressed me more than Robbie Vincent with his style of presentation and
the music he played. I don't aim to copy anybody, what I do is purely me, but the show is about the music, and not about me. Either way I aim to please and I hope you will enjoy a bit of "Soul Heaven". I also have my own website dedicated to my show. Details can be found elsewhere on this page. Please visit my site today.

Who I'd like to meet: This could be an endless list of people I'd like to meet:UNIFIED TRIBE. I would like to meet Magic and the gang because this group just make me feel so good and I love the music. They have such a gr8 feel good factor about them and I hope to meet them soon. LUTHER VANDROSS. I would love to have met Luther. I think his untimely death is a sad loss to the soul music world. I know that his music lost a bit of it's appeal in more recent times for being too commercial but you cannot beat that voice. His voice is instantly recognisable and he was a very talented songwriter too as Aretha Franklin, Cheryl Lynn and others have found to their benefit. FRANKIE BEVERLY AND MAZE. I have always regretted missing the concerts they had at the Hammersmith Palais in the 80's. These guys have soul with a capital S. Well at least I have a DVD of the lads in concert, but I sure would like to meet them. The list could go on and on, but for the record I would also like to meet JEAN CARNE, GEORGE BENSON, THE OJAYS, ROY AYERS, DENNIS TAYLOR, GARY TAYLOR, CHERYL LYNN and ANITA BAKER to name a few!!
