Sounds Like
What we've been told: "The Meters meets Hendrix meets Steely Dan." "Like The Screaming Headless Torsos". Neither of which we take lightly.
What we've read: "Part James Brown funk, part Stevie Wonder soul, the lyrical
voice of Robert Bradley, mixed together with grooving basslines and powerful
guitars. With all these elements, you get one of the most funky jam bands out
there."
What we say: Listen to the music and decide for yourself.
Zesty groovesters Soulhound. Purveyors of heart pounding funk, soul and sweaty grooves in Atlanta. Music to shake your Tic-Tacs to.
Soulhound
has been described as “part James Brown funk, part Stevie Wonder soul, with
the lyrical voice of Robert Bradley, all thrown in with some groovin' bass
lines and powerful guitars.” Clearly Soulhound are inspired disciples of the
groove-oriented R&B, Soul and greasy Funk of the late sixties and seventies.
Their influences range from the Meters, Tower of Power and Parliament/Funkadelic
to Graham Central Station, Jimi Hendrix and Steely Dan. With their unique brand
of song-based, groove-oriented music, the band has become a crossroads where
fans of all these genera can meet and get their groove on.
Soulhound
has played all over the Southeast and has shared the stage with both national
and regionally touring groups like The Legendary JC's, RAQ, The Lee Boys, Ancient Harmony, Cadillac Jones, Laura Reed & Deep
Pocket, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band and many others.
Soulhound's 1 st CD “A Quickie In The Cave” is out now. Click the links below to pick up a copy.

Hiya ... Thanks for the friend request...much appreciated! Will be sure to check you guys out at FloydFest. Will catch you both days. I go every year ... only live an hour from the venue. So glad you contacted me! Suze
Hey Dudes, sorry i won't be able to make Floydfest...I have gigs in the Carolinas that weekend..I live in North Carolina now. I grew up in Salem, VA & my grandfather had a farm in Floyd County when i was a kid.Floyd was just a sleepy town back then. They didn't have cool music festivals like they do now. If ya need any supplies..check out Moran's groceries. My step-brother owns that store. His name is Stan.Tell him i sent ya.It's hard to pick a favorite...but i really like " Circumstances ". Great drags on the snare drum and a bangin rhythm guitar!!! Great tunes....bluesy but funky ! Keep on Funkin ! Thanks for the request & Best of luck to ya, Ray
