Like many people (most likely you), I fell in love with the Hang Drum.
I researched on how to find and perhaps purchase one but found it to be quite out of my reach but in my Internet travels I stumbled across Dennis Havlena and his home-made version of the Hang Drum made from a BBQ gas tank called the Hank Drum.
I thought this was the next best thing for the time being and decided to make a couple and after showing them to a few people they liked them so much that they wanted me to make them... hence this site.
I don't take ANY credit for designing this instrument and am not looking to make a living out of it. I just purely want other people in Australia who can't afford Hang, Halo, Hapi, Garrahand Drums to experience and enjoy this instrument that has been generously shared by Dennis Havlena.
They sound great by themselves and with other instruments but these melodic steel drums can also be used for sound healing and meditation, similar to crystal and tibetan singing bowls.
The sound from these drums is a form of vibrational medicine, which validates that everything in the universe is in a state of vibration and the frequency at which an object or person most naturally vibrates is called resonance.
The chakras, bones and organs in the body all possess a different resonant frequency. When an organ or part of the body is vibrating out of tune or nonharmoniously, it is called "dis-ease" or disease. A body is in a healthy state of being when each cell and each organ creates a resonance that is in harmony with the whole being, so you can actually heal yourself while playing, which makes these drums excellent for performances as well as for sound healing and meditation.
