Soul Patch is a Traverse City, MI based band with members as versital as it's music. In 2003, Soul Patch was formed by WINK (To be reffered to as Wink/I/Myself from here on out.) Initially, it was just Wink as a Solo Acoustic act, playing tunes that people loved to listen to. Then one magical evening at a Hippie-Fest called Wright-Stock in the Valley of Rapid City, MI, Wink met Michael Peck (To be reffered to as Mando from here on out.) Mando and Wink continued to jam as much as possible, and anywhere they could. As a two piece acoustic act, Soul Patch shared the stage with many great acts across the Mid-West for about 2 years. Then in the Summer of 2004, Wink met Christopher Belanger (To be reffered to as C.B. from here on out.) I am currantly out of time, so I will be finishing the rest of this very soon...... to be continued!!!
Okay where was I, Oh Yeah... Once lining things up with CB, Soul Patch became a three piece and kept on playin'. Gathering many friends to jam on percussions and/or drum kit as possible along the way. That goes out to all of you who have sat in or jammed with us regularly, you know who you are, Love to you all. Then we had some crazy shit happen and we took a little break and Mando and I wrote some more tunes. Then after our short break, we gathered new members. CB brought a friend to practice in the form of Adam Sleder (To be reffered to as what ever you want 'cuz he's got so many nicknames.) Adam was a perfect musical soul mate from day one and continues to amaze us all with his talents everytime we play. Then one wild wacky day in late 2005, Soul Patch needed to play a New Years Eve show at the last minute and had no drummer or percussionist. Threw a long time friend I received a phone number of a percussion-god by the name of Marc Alderman (To be reffered to as Animal from here on out.) We then all jammed together three times and pulled off a 3 hour New Years Eve show, and I must say it went rather well. Then for a short period, Mando, CB, myself and sometimes Sled-Dog jammed with a good friend Tom Noble on drums for most of 2006. Tom moved to Detroit, MI and it was very hard for him to make the trip all the time to jam, so.....
We all hooked back up with Animal and have been playin' shows whenever possible. We have been writing loads of new music and are working on some new fun covers as well. A Soul Patch show is a ride through a land of make believe. We don't even know what we are going to play next. Anyhow, that's our story in a not real long drawn out manner. Look for us all around the Traverse City Area and where ever you see the name SOUL PATCH, 'cuz we'll probably be there. Let the positive vibration touch you all today and thanks for readin'!Love,Wink
