The Section : sound like high-energy chaotic rock n soul on the verge of collapse, performing in a futuristic Japanese airport lounge...we like to keep things raw and alive, unbalanced and slightly unhinged...
We formed around 2005 and have played many shows in Sydney. The Section have released a few EPs and one of our songs is featured in an obscure surf movie. After playing around for a bit as a 3 piece we added electric harpsichord and horns. . .Our current line-up is:
vocals/guitar, electric harpsichord, drums, alto sax. . .
We dig musicians, artists, noisemakers and crazy people who are independent, original, open-minded and crazy. . .
The Section's gigs are inspired by a love of primal rave-ups - every gig is different! (to say the least. . . ). . .it's the out sound from way in. . .
can you dig it!?
Subculture Weekend next weekend at The Sandringham Hotel, Newtown - flash, new! big upstairs room! Mother Truckers all set to rev back up the engine on Black Friday 13 November. Hope to see you there!
"Also hugely enjoyable, highly original AND psychically useful is the
music of Australian duo The Scrapes, whose fiery epic guitar and
abandoned Mithraic fiddle pieces evoke images of lost Keltic lands
inundated by the oceans, lost Iberian & Armorican sea peoples and
lost times from beyond the beyond." Julian Cope
