Soulshake are a live AV act juxtaposing music, graphics, film and special FX using sampling, looping, re-editing and cutting 6-deck mixing techniques to create an encyclopaedic collage spanning every musical genre including house, breaks, psy, electro, progressive and drum and bass to a supercharged mash-up of video remixes.

Equally versed at DJing, VJing or the full live AV show, Soulshake have been in demand with performances in 2008 including the Glastonbury Festival, Glade Festival, the International Breakspoll Awards, Synergy Project and C64 to name a few, and providing bespoke visuals for acts including Dreadzone Soundsystem, Deekline & Wizard, DJ Fresh, Mark Moore, Loose Cannons, Hannah Holland, Backstage Sluts, the Flurotrash acrobatic dancers and more...

Comprised of London based DJ/VJ/producers/club promoters Mark Kane and Yasmin Chadury, this industrious duo have successfully produced some of the most memorable events in London over the past several years with company Higher Status Events, including the hugely popular and Breakspoll award nominated C64 breakbeat parties, the Intel DJ/VJ Laptop Battle, Finger Lickin’ Records Allnighter at Mass, Tsunami Breaks, Skin Two Rubber Ball , London Fashion Week launch parties and Notting Hill Carnival parties to name a few.

With 13 years experience behind the decks, Kane’s musical journey has travelled through all manner of genres including house, progressive, trance, funk, industrial and most recently breakbeat. As the driving force behind Breakspoll award-nominated breaks act DEF inc., he has toured the globe with gigs in China, Russia, India, the US, Eastern Europe, New Zealand and Australia, establishing himself as a true turntable technician at events including the Miami Winter Music Conference, We Love Space in Ibiza, the Glade Festival, the Bloom Festival, Fingerlickin’ Record’s All-Nighters, Raindance, Chew the Fat!, Ministry of Sound and Godskitchen to name a few, and released a number of monster tunes on Botchit and Scarper and Finger Lickin’ Records. Prior to this he was one half of reputable hard dance act Kane and Able and played to UK festival crowds of up to 70,000, at premier nights such as Sundissential, Insomnia, Smile, Explosion and Seduction, held a bi-monthly residency at the Jet Lounge in New York, hosted for Marilyn Manson and toured the US, Egypt, Greece and Turkey. Originally a drummer and percussionist, Mark switched to DJing when his 22-piece drum kit threatened to take over the house...!

Yasmin originally trained as a classical musician for over a decade on the piano, guitar, saxophone and clarinet, performing across the UK and Europe with various popular acts on Warner Music and East/West Records and tour managing a Paul Oakenfold act on Perfecto Records. Currently Creative Director of Higher Status Events she also acts, models and performs at diverse venues from legendary Soho performance art cabarets to the art parties of the Venice Biennale. Her work as photographer for 20th Century Fox, Disney and MGM has been published all over the world and with a background in fine art, psychology and philosophy, contributes her visual skills and content to the production of the Soulshake AV sets.

Harmonizing their eclectic influences and observations in music, art, film and current affairs from across the globe is what fuels Soulshake’s creative vision into sets that deliver an inspiring, entrancing, entertaining or just plain tongue-in-cheek comedy look at the Soulshake world accompanied by sure-fire peak-time party sounds that guarantee to get the dancefloor both rocking and mesmerized at the same time!
