4. Demonic Verses
5. Paradise
6. The Metro
7. Words Like Knives
8. Way Back Home
9. Fire, Be My Guide
10. Monster
11. Just A Number
"Third album from this Finnish band comprising of members of MANIFESTO JUKEBOX and WASTED and one that is notably different from (their early albums). The influences of that album are still evident but an influx of piano and even brass (specifically on ‘Paradise’ it seems) have replaced them along with a big HIVES sound. Oddly, there is also a very British vibe via MEN THEY COULDN’T HANG and TV SMITH similarities (check out ‘Way Back Home’) being evident along with a WIPERS-esque stridency. The songs are structured, moody in parts (‘Paradise’ has the potential for a major hit single) and on repeated listens make for an enthralling album."

4. Time To Burn
5. Barren Fields
6. Demons Are Forever
7. Bitter End
8. Clean Slate
9. Russian Roulette
10. No Redemption
11. Unbroken
"The guitars on this churn out some seriously cutting & precise chords. It’s all based very much in a traditional style of song-writing - with SOCIAL DISTORTION being an obvious comparison - but it sounds like those guitars are hit with such force that the resulting chords could clear a forest! The band is the latest storming export from Finland, featuring members of both MANIFESTO JUKEBOX & WASTED. While the SOCIAL D. reference is not misplaced, it’s also slightly unavailing as the band offers much more than that, such as the SWINGIN’ UTTERS-esque acoustic Punk of tracks like ‘Bitter End’ & the dynamics of ‘Dear You’ era JAWBREAKER on the album stealing, pulsating ‘Barren Fields’ which is epic in construction & anthemic in completion. Opener ‘In Retrospect’ features some sublime bass breakdowns & the continual use of an organ lends a depth & dimension way beyond the usual Punk rock ‘n’ roll approach to song-writing. A great 10-track release from what appears to be a thriving scene of varied, inspirational & quality Punk Rock."

"...As a new band, undoubtedly a more distinct sound will develop as they evolve, but for now this EP is clear evidence of significant promise. The songwriting is a little raw, but the sonic choices are all intelligent and there a nary a misstep across the entire disc. A deft blend of emotion and power, Open Wounds is an excellent debut from a band making all the right sounds. "

2. Kidd
3. Revolution
4. Suzzan
5. Phantom
6. Blood Feud

"...5th Threat are not a band interested in ballads or dirges. Threat or Death is pedal-to-the-metal all the way, with each high energy track leading straight in to the next. The frenetic walking bassline to “Revolution” is characteristic of the blend of catchiness and hurtling enthusiasm that is the trademark of this release. Bubblegum pop with a dark sneer and grit, Threat or Death is top-drawer New Zealand punk rock. "

12. So I'm Told
"...on this noxious, rocking slab o’ Punk, the band has defined its own sound. That BLACK FLAG comparison is still worthy though as the opening locked-down riffage of ‘War Machine’ or the ‘Nervous Breakdown’esque refrain of ‘Don’t Forget’ prove, but here it’s coupled with a totally insistent modern rage that slices the senses and throttles your eardrums. (Souls 'n Bones Records/Harbour City Records - 2006) - AUS$8
1. Nothing Personal
2. Addicted To Lying
3. Hypocritically Ill
4. Throw It Away
5. This Time
"...Nothing Personal shows (Onebadweekend) have evolved somewhat (from their initial straight-up skate punk sound). The breakneck drumming and new school punk guitaring is still present and accounted for, but the band have incorporated some other influences in their sound to subtly augment it. For example, the EP's standout track "Addicted To Lying" sounds closer to contemporaries such as The Bleeders than mid-90s So-Cal punk bands, with the opener (and title track) showing definite traces of hardcore in sound if not the blitzkrieg tempo."

"Taking influence from bands such as Sommerset on "Living To Die" (with its brilliant gang vocal chorus), fellow Wellingtonians Brubeck on "My Morning Paper" with a fun 40-second blast, through to overseas acts such as Rise Against on the mid-tempo yet punchy, "The 21st of Some Month", Not Quite Right provide a spectrum of styles and show that they know how to write punk ballads through to classic three chord foot stompers."

Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
Undergroundsounds Program Manager 44 Bambil St, Crestmead,Queensland. Australia.
