How I made my profile: I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor. Un jour de Septembre 2006, Jérome Cheenne, Phil Lesaffre et Gaël Lalloum ont décidé de mettre leurs efforts et connaissances en commun pour jouer et produire la musique de leurs rêves : de la Soul.
Soul sur Seine est un collectif de musiciens parisiens qui reprennent des titres plus ou moins classiques du répertoire de la soul music des années soixante et début soixante-dix.
Ils sont essentiellement tournés vers la scène et chaque concert est valorisé par la présence du DJ set de Phil Perfect, neuvième membre et conseiller musical du groupe, spécialiste de cette musique rare, authentique et furieusement "soulful".
Ils piochent dans un répertoire allant du Rhythm 'n' Blues à la Northern Soul en passant par le Gospel, ils aiment les labels mythiques Stax;Tamla;Chess;Atlantic...
En attendant de mûrir leurs propres morceaux, ils jouent des classiques de Ray Charles, Rufus Thomas, Marlena Shaw ou Patti Austin.

Soul sur Seine is a parisian combo playing mid-sixties to early-seventies Soul Music covers.
To go on stage is mainly what they wish to do most. Furthermore, each concert is highlighted with a Deejay set by Phil Perfect, actually the ninth member of the band and their musical adviser, being specialised in this scarce, authentic and furiously "soulful" music.
They dig in a rich repertoire mixing R'n'B, Northern Soul or Gospel and they pay a tribute to some mythical labels such as Stax, Tamla Motown, Chess or Atlantic.
While their own songs mature, they play a set of classics from Ray Charles, Patti Austin or Marlena Shaw

Latest effort by this super-hot raw Soul band from France. The five guys from Lyon and Ciara (singer fom St.Louis) laid down a string of phenomenal kick-ass-Soul songs at Beatschaffe sessions when they visited Germany on their 2008 tour. Due to the quantity of great material they recorded at one day we decided to released some songs on our mainlabel 'copaseDisques' (more Buttshakers songs of the same session will follow at a regular Beatschaffe series release - keep your eyes'n'ears tuned for it!!).
At this platter we have two songs, tailor-made for the boiling dancefloors of sweaty Soulclubs. Recorded with vintage equipment on two-track reel-to-reel tape. Pressed in stylish vinyl - the best way to deliver 'buttshaking' Soul.
