About me: Hello all, and God Bless! I am a young black attorney in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a USC Law grad and a Morehouse College sociology grad. My interests are in Tort Law, Litigation, and Entertainment/Music law. As of late, I'm interested in entertainment most of all. I'm a unique individual. I went to law school because of music. In '97, I interviewed Shaggy at Morehouse College for the newspaper. I noticed then how little control the artist has in his day to day business dealings, so I started investigating who does. Every answer I got took me to someone with either a law or business degree, or someone whose job would incline them to get such a degree if they could (puffy, Master P, Russell Simmons, etc.) or some nameless faceless non-black billionaire (Jimmy Iovine, etc.) To be sure, that is what made me want to move to California to go to law school.
Upon going to law school, I learned to gain interests in other arenas such as real estate, business law, litigation and employment. At present, I do contract work because the pay is good and the hours are excellent! Furthermore, it allows me to develop in the areas of law that interest me during my off time and not have to rely on it to live well. Like my father said: do what you love, and then the money will come.
Who I'd like to meet: Any artist who has already been approached by a label for a record deal but is not clear as to what it means, if they should sign, etc. and needs someone who can help them decipher it.

I am not comfortable with Obama's limited experience and whether you are Republican or Democrat, having control of all three by any party hurts our system of checks and balances. I think it is fantastic that an African American got elected. It really speaks to the opportunity we all have and highlights the diversity that makes us "One country,". I just wish that Obama wasn't so radical. I think we all agree that America needs change, but too much change can be a bad thing.
Jees-o-peats! I never check anything. I'm surprised I know anyone in the outside world (or do I or are they all figments of my imagination...). Hope you're well.
What happened is I had a baby and everything that comes along with it (lack of sleep, hormonal imbalance, stretch marks, etc)! LOL It's all good though ... today is a new day. I feel a bit better now.
Thanks for adding the pictures from the reunion. I checked them out on myspace & spelhouse. i am still a lil salty that I missed it (especially since it was my intention to go). Black folks backed out on me @ the last minute... Anyway. I will try 2 make it 2 Homecoming 2 make up for it (although I won't get my hopes up 2 high :) ). Thanks again.
