About me:

I can be found most Tuesday's and the first Saturday of each month helping out with The Cape Fear Blues Society's Blues Jam at The Rusty Nail. A fun time for all musicians to jam with each other regardless of their skill level. Each musician brings only his instrument as everything he/she needs beyond that is provided.

Who I'd like to meet:

British recording engineer Andrew Jackson. Famous for his work with the British band Pink Floyd. He first helped out on the film soundtrack to Pink Floyd The Wall in 1982. He also co-engineered The Final Cut with James Guthrie and did all of the engineering on Pink Floyd's A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell albums plus the new material recorded for the soundtrack to the band's 1992 auto racing documentary film La Carerra Panamericana. He was also their concert sound engineer on the band's 1994 Division Bell tour. He has also closely worked with Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour as a recording engineer on his 1984 solo album About Face and also engineered his On an Island album, the Live in Gdańsk album, the David Gilmour in Concert DVD and Remember That Night DVD plus was the FOH Sound Engineer on Gilmour's On an Island tour. He has also engineered Roger Waters' first full length solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. In addition to his work with Pink Floyd since 1982, Andrew has also worked with bands like Heatwave and The Boomtown Rats (most notably mixed their hit "I Don't Like Mondays") He was nominated for Best Engineered Recording for both A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell and lost both times. He also recorded an album of his own called Obvious which was released in 2001.

When I take the time to sit down and look at people pasing by I don't stop thinking about how fantastic life is and even the creation of man. Think about all the parts that have to/should work together. It is not strange that something goes wrong from time to time. This weeks link is The Bluesmates version of Assembly Line. Wishing you a great weekend with some good music. Take care. Blues'on my friend. Grandpa_Erik
