I work with the Glasgowbury Music Group on its festival, doing sound for the G Session's and tutoring various workshops available from the group.Playing guitar, finding sounds, working with bands, helping develope music and gigs!.
About me: Sound Advice is a new innovative music project designed to help musicians and bands understand the world of sound.
When we think about music ,we think about sound. Its ability to evoke emotion beyond our everyday life can take us to far yonder realms and places of imagination.Every aspiring musician wishes to sound their best when they play live, rehearse or record in a studio. Many can often feel that their own sound is taken away from them by producers, engineers or studio heads who think it should be this and that.On many occasions it is inexperience and lack of preparation that can lead artists to feel this way.
This new exciting project is designed for artist's or bands to look their own live and studio sounds and techniques so that in future live or studio performances they are more competant and confident in themselves.
Who I'd like to meet: This project is openly available to all bands/solo artists. It will be delivered in a non-formal innovative style of workshop that can be opened up to tailor for emerging acts.If you want to improve, here's something to help you along the way.In many parts of the project there are simple pieces of advice to be taken or left as you see fit, there are things you will learn even if it is just how you approach your music career or plug something in or how even a little respect and manners can be as effective as your sound or image in furthering your career. You will learn something from this project,if anything, you will learn how to use your ears....
And maybe even learn how to connect them to the wonderous space between..!!
This Sunday we're heading to The Pavilion in Belfast! Kitty and The Can Openers are playing as well. Hope to see ya there! 8 pm (sorry for the blinding colours!!)
Hey thanks for accepting our request, we hope you like our music. See you on a Gwydion show! Our merchandise is available for sale, to order send mail to: shop@gwydion.org or do it in our myspace.
This will be our final gig, and what better way to go out than sharing a stage with one of our favourite bands? Thanks to all the people we've worked and played with over the last few years; we hope we've turned some frowns upside down...we've certainly had so much fun it probably should've been illegal! I think it could be summed up best by one of the great thinkers of our time, Mr Vinnie Jones: "It's been emotional..."
hey, sounds like a great project. hope it's going well. I'm releasing my album, hello, my uglies on 22nd May at McHugh's in Belfast. You're very welcome to join! x Rachel
