A double-take on what is to be expected, the band in its core plays with the curious, the suspicious, the mysterious... Basically everything shady they can musically achieve.
What they dubbed "rock inquiétant" is caracterized by consistent yet unconventional time signature compositions, tempo shifts and overall brilliant use of stringed instruments and percussions. Rather than falling into the math-rock niche, Sound Asleep is mostly recognized for appealing to one of the most variegated crowd in Montreal, thanks to their frequent switching between metal blastbeats to jazzy funky grooves and back again to a hardcore breakdown all in the same song.
