Sound Bites is all about Good Music and Good Fun!

Twice a week, every week with acoustic performers, bands and everything in between. We value content over style not style over content and love the talented musicians that come to play. We believe in not charging door entry so you can come and watch great live music as often as you like without breaking the bank, and we have great audiences who know good music and love dancing on tables.

Ever since our first night on December 13th 2005, Sound Bites has grown into one of the best live music nights in North London but kept an intimate and friendly vibe without becoming cliquey or pretentious. Come down for a great relaxing night with quality music.

Always on the look out for interesting, talented or simply strange musicians, djs or performers weird and wonderful for the Sound Bites lead original live music in Kentish Town revolution.

Brave people who are doing something totally out of the ordinary are particularly welcome!

Venue: The Abbey, 124 Kentish Town Road, London, NW1 9QB.

Live music: Every Tuesday and Sunday night.

Sunshine and Drunkenness: Every day of the week...

About me:

----------SUNDAY 5 JULY----------

Kinzli & The Kilowatt Kids
"Brave, adventurous and talented, Kinzli is definitely one to watch." - Clare O'Brien, Subba Cultcha
Myspace.com/kinzli

The Little Pictures
The Little Pictures are an acoustic duo put together by vocalist Rozie Gyems and guitarist Leon Cave. Their sound fuses soulful yet refined vocals combined with edgy rock and funk guitar making a sound that is both individual and unique.

Oli Wennink
Oli Wennink is a multi-talented singer-songwriter, pianist and performer, with a flair for style and theatrics. Part 21st Century Thin White Dude meets Generation Y-not Prophet. His music is an adventure. He is the real deal: a serious artist who enjoys being an entertainer. Wennink’s music has influences of the Roots, Rhythm and Blues of the 50s, the Swinging Pop of the 60s, Art Rock of the 70s, Electronic Synth Pop of the 80s couple with lashing of New Wave/New Romantic drama and expressiveness, leading to Indie Brit Pop of the 90s – all integrated into a unique 21st Century sound all of his own. His voice and piano skills are distinctive, versatile and stand out from the crowd.

Steven Finn
In this modern world it's not often you find songs so deeply cultivated in the folk and roots tradition. Timeless, yet completely relevant, these are songs you want to listen to again and again. As a performer, Steven doesn't just let his songs speak for themselves (which he could), instead backing it all up with crafted skill and dynamic delivery." (Bristol Folk House review)

----------TUESDAY 7 JULY----------

Rescue Cat
"Steely Dan values in a hip hop world. Smooth smack soul where melody can still make you sit up and listen. Rather than getting in your face he creeps up and gets in your brain" CMU
Myspace.com/rescuecatmusic

C J Young
Once described as a ravenous exploration into the heart of chaos, C J Young's live spectacle can be considered nothing less than unique. From growling dirty blues foot stompers, to crafting quiet corners of urban sanctuary, his music takes you through places you'd never quite expect, and never quite back again. "The most interesting thing I've seen in seven years" - Jeremy Glover, The Indy Music Awards.

The Budda Cakes
“The Budda Cakes make great music. They refuse to be pigeonholed , they challenge musical normality.” Toxic Pete

Craig Brauns
Craig’s individual and raspy voice perfectly accompanies up beat well written songs in a way that will instantly have you all sitting up and paying attention. Topped to perfection with guitar accompaniment from the excellent Sean Dillon.
myspace.com/craigbrauns

Kayv
An intense yet smooth rush of music that will flow through you and cause a silent but somewhat unsettled calm.
myspace.com/kayvsings

The Tricycle Singers

Myspace.com/tomokiyo

Madelaine Hart
“Madelaine Hart is going places with that voice of hers. Outstanding passion, and emotion in her voice, and she carries the lyrics with such style and finesse in her vocals. Nice acoustic guitar accompanying her that set the tracks of nicely. And so much more to this album.” Jamendo User Review

Punk bluegrass duo, Celebrity Chimp combine powerful melodies with tight rhythm to get you up and dancing. You've never heard banjo and drums like this before.

Tabitha Benjamin
Plays Ukulele better than your great granddad who was in the circus!
myspace.com/tabithabenjamin

Jack Alexander
Sounds like a cross between a bi-curious Leonard Cohen with a huge penchant for melody and 'Elliot Smith-esque' lyrical twists.
