After a very great start in 2007 and a awesome second event in 2008 , with cool bands, a delicate BurlesqueShow, lovley GoGo-Girls and very crazy partypeople around the whole Europe, the Soundflat Records Ballroom Bash will come back with the third part!!!!
The Partys 2007 and 2008 were amazing. Diese fünfköpfige Truppe aus Milwaukee im amerikanischen Bundesstaat Wisconsin ist derzeit noch das, was man einen "Geheimtip" nennt - aber das sicherlich nicht mehr lange! Denn wenn bei ihnen erdiger Garage-Rock'n'Roll und melodischer Punk Rock auf Country und Folk treffen, dann besitzt das eine große Portion Pop-Appeal, ist verdammt eingängig und das Ergebnis sind sehr eigenständige, locker-flockige Power-Pop-Rock'n'Roll-Ohrwürmer, welche die gesamte nordamerikanische Musikgeschichte der letzten 50 Jahre in sich aufgesogen haben, aber durchaus tanzbar sind! Eines ihrer zwei Alben wurde von GREG CARTWRIGHT (Ex-OBLIVIANS) produziert, und an dessen neue Band REIGNING SOUND erinnern sie durch die dezente Orgel-Untermalung und eine teilweise leicht melancholische Stimmung auch; andere Bezugspunkte sind unter anderem die MODERN LOVERS, THE MOJOMATICS (mit denen sie sich in Italien das Plattenlabel teilen) und eine weniger "psychotische" Ausgabe der BLACK LIPS!

Ein echter Leckerbissen für alle Freunde wirklich heißer Rock'n'Roll-Action: Das kanadische Trio um den fantastischen Gitarristen Big John spielt eine wahnwitzig-wilde Mischung aus Garage-Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, Psychobilly und Surf und erinnert an THE CRAMPS, REVEREND HORTON HEAT und SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS! Wem das noch nicht spektakulär genug ist: Abgerundet werden ihre Auftritte zusätzlich durch die "Bad Girls of Burlesque" - zwei grandiose Go-Go-Tänzerinnen, die in wechselnden Kostümen eine erotische Burlesque-Show abliefern, die stark an BETTIE PAGE und andere legendäre Pin-Up-Ikonen der 50er Jahre angelehnt ist! Dieses Konzert ist sowohl optisch als auch akustisch ein Knaller!

Hier ist der Bandname gleichzeitig auch Programm - denn diese sechsköpfige, stets stilvoll gekleidete Formation inklusive Bläser-Sektion aus Südfrankreich, deren in New Orleans geborene und aufgewachsene Sängerin ihre Karriere ganz klassisch im Gospel-Chor begann, spielt rauhen und dreckigen, wilden und selbstverständlich hochgradig tanzbaren 60's-Soul und Rhythm'n'Blues, der einen ganz kräftig mit dem Arsch wackeln läßt! Wer die Musik von KING KHAN & THE SHRINES, SHARON JONES AND THE DAP-KINGS und der DETROIT COBRAS zu schätzen weiß, wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen - nicht umsonst wollten die DIRTBOMBS die Combo letztes Jahr bei ihren Konzerten in Frankreich unbedingt als Vorband mit dabei haben!
Nach dem Konzert sorgt das DJ-Team THE ORIGINAL SINNERS für einen Mix aus "Heavy Funk, Sweet Soul & Hard-Hitting Rock'n'Roll" vom Plattenteller!
ASTRO ZOMBIES am Freitag, 8. Mai 2009 im Club Zwölfzehn in Stuttgart
Trotz des Bandnamens, der das nahelegen könnte, handelt es sich bei den Franzosen mit "internationaler Besetzung" (bei denen neuerdings auch der Basser der britischen Psychobilly-Legende LONG TALL TEXANS Mitglied ist und deren Schlagzeuger in Stuttgart lebt) bekanntlich keinesfalls um eine MISFITS-Coverband! Dieses Trio ist vielmehr bereits seit Mitte der 90er Jahre bekannt für seinen knalligen und dabei gleichzeitig immer aber auch abwechslungsreichen Psychobilly-Sound, der Einflüsse von Rock'n'Roll, Punk Rock, Surf und sogar Ska aufweist! Ihr Debütalbum wurde damals von P. PAUL FENECH (dem Frontmann von THE METEORS und "Godfather of Psychobilly") produziert, was wohl eindrucksvoll die Qualitäten der Band aufzeigt - und seit ihrem grandiosen Konzert beim letztjährigen "Rock'n'Roll-Halloween" weiß wohl jeder, daß einen hier eine höllische Live-Show erwartet!
Als Support THE PHANTOMICS: Das Quartett aus der Region hat seinen ganz eigenen Mix aus Rockabilly, Outlaw-Country und Psychobilly auf Lager!
Nach dem Konzert sorgen MAD MAN MARKUS und REVEREND REICHSSTADT für die wilde und gleichzeitig tanzbare Musik vom Plattenteller!
