Sound Guise are a loose collective, including the brothers Rutherford (Goldie and Piri), Roy Mcniell, Jay Jaxson, Sina D, Zak the gypsy, Cornelius Balthazar, Flux 3, Mez, Stefan the german, January Thompson, Chike S, Crispin Holt, whoever is in the studio at the time...or available for gigs.

Founded in early 2006 by Piri and Goldie Rutherford, with the help of Roy McNiell, Sound Guise are a creative community, as opposed to a typical band type structure. Their debut gig was an auspicious one, supporting Dj Dk at the ninjatune gig 'Solidsteel at the Clare', put on by the Found Sounds crew, where they rocked the crowd to a standstill! Included in their ranks are many multi skilled individuals, coming together to form the nucleus of the group, including visual artists, djs, musicians and producers. Typically songs are workshopped in the studio (Dirty Tree Studios, Wellington St, Chippendale), then given to other members to play with, then back to the studio for finishing touches. Their style ranges from blissed out dub, to hardcore westcoast instrumental hiphop, to rugged jungle, and virtually everything in between. In keeping with their eclecticism and versatility, Sound Guise look set to explode over summer at a variety of venues, from downbeat grooves in cafes, reggae stages at major festivals, and heads up D'n'B gigs.
