   About soundhog
Crappy 'm*sh-up' peddlers will not be approved or added. Please don't waste your time, or mine. It's a long, long time since I cared for that sort of thing...

Bastard-pop legend (it says here). An inspiration to many (and I'm sorry for that). Musician of sorts, DJ of much repute, BBC local radio annoyance, unsurpassed mix-tape creator, very bad judge of character, stubborn twat. Which is why I'm still sitting here typing rather than going out being famous these days, while shits with more mouth than talent rule the earth. Some things will probably never change. But I'd be perfectly happy if they did. What'cha got?

I was/am/might be one third of Tauchsieder, the Scottish/Welsh electronic experimental supergroup who had a CD called "Louder" out in a few random shops, featuring guest contributions from JD Twitch (Optimo), Colin Newman (Wire/Githead), Richard X (uber pop producer) and Tom Ellard (maverick behind Severed Heads)... it's bloody good, but nobody ever got to hear about it. There may be more to come later in the year from the project, but that's by no means certain.

My standard audio life is available from
http://www.soundhog.co.uk

Deep and meaningful tunes from http://www.thefreelancehairdresser.co.uk

Hear bits (actually, download the whole) of the Tauchsieder album at http://www.tauchsieder.co.uk

Tonight's show is fuller than a nymphomaniac elephant's sleeping bag: we have an exclusive session of monstrous riffs and colossal sounds from Mother of Six; Fiona & Gorwel Owen will be in to talk about their wonderfully accomplished new album; after technical problems on last week's show, I will re-broadcast DJ Fuzzyfelt's monthly look at the Welsh language scene; *KC* gives us her monthly blog, Soundhog decorates the show with music both old and inspirational, and Huw Williams -- the Indiana Jones of Welsh music -- takes us for another trip into Welsh music past.

But the jam between all these layers of cake is the new, Welsh music that you're kind enough to send me every week.

Please send your best, new recording as a high quality .mp3 to:

themysterytour@gmail. com

Include a short biography and a contact number, please.

That way, I can ring you for a short chat if you bag the Demo of the Week.

Show starts at 10pm on BBC Radio Wales.

And you can listen to it via our iPlayer for a whole week afterwards.

Have an excellent week!

PetSounds [Telfords Warehouse]

May 29 2008 1:49 AM

Hello all,

My name is Adam, I'm the DJ at Telfords on Friday nights.

I have re-launched the myspace for Friday nights.

http://myspace. com/petsoundsuk

This has all of the playlists for Friday nights going back to October 2007.

And -- perhaps more importantly -- is the place to leave any requests you might have for Friday nights.

If there is something [good!] that you want to hear on a Friday night, leave a comment on the myspace page the day before [at the latest] and I will do my best to include it [have a look through the old playlists to see what I play on Fridays].

Please note that making a request won't guarantee that the track gets played, or when it gets played. I will - however - do my best to accommodate you.

This Friday night we are joined by the prodigiously talented Andy Hickie & His Merry Maidens.
Expect heartbreaking melodies and songs of great yearning and joy, coloured in shades of Bob Dylan, The Band, Wilco and Neil Young, from a band that includes members of Camera, the Roseville Band and Mother of Six.
Andy was recently invited to play at this year's Glastonbury after getting through to the the last two at the annual Pilton Village Festival.

Before and after the band expect an eclectic trawl through the most inspirational music of the last 50 years, including brand new tracks from Beck, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, The Hold Steady and Pop Levi.

Oh, yeah... it's my birthday too! [on the Saturday]

All contributions to the Birthday Drinking Fund will be very gratefully received!

Adam
