About me:
Entering into the fray of Manchester's vibrant underground club scene, Sound Minority is all about cave raves and electronic dancefloor destroyers.
Whilst most nights tend to stick to a certain sound we will attempt to bring you a variety of different influences from the world of electronic dance music; from breaks to tech-house, acid loops to sonic soundscapes, from deep driving grooves to jack-out weird shit and bass-heavy minimalism to balls-out techno.
We will also be showcasing some of Manchester's and the UK's rising talent in the live electronic scene, so keep an eye out for something new and a bit different.
We have high ambitions for Sound Minority - this is one night that should definately be in your calendar.
**Recent News - Special Guest**
Joining us for Sound Minority's 7th cave rave will be London's Saytek, who has recently been creating a buzz on the capital's underground scene with his mind-blowing live performances at The End. Using a Roland 909 workstation synced to ableton live & a controller/keyboard to wow the crowds, Saytek arranges, mixes, triggers, re-samples and tweaks effects on the fly, making his electrifying shows as live as electronic music gets. His genre-spanning productions take in tech-house, techno, electro-breaks and acid influences and are cut up and re-edited to deliver a dancefloor destroying live set.
Having the likes of Meat Katie,Danny Howells , Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson, Terry Francis ,Phil Kieran, Peace Division and John Digweed all champion and play Saytek's releases gave him a platform to start up his own label, MachineFunc Records in 2007. His most recent EP 'Alkaloidfunc' boasts support from Laurent Garnier and David Duriez and has established Saytek as a name to watch in 2008.
With live gigs in London, Berlin, Dublin and Spain under his belt he now brings the show to Joshua Brooks' basement alongside Sound Minority residents Frogrocket, Tim Driver and Lawrence Court (plus a Gadabouts DJ Set from Chemical Tom and Plankton) for an evening of cutting edge underground tech-house, techno, breaks and electro-tinged mentalism.
Finish the year in acid style!

After a few months on the edge of town, the northern branch of BigSexyLand swashbuckles its way right into Manchester's fluttering heart with a cheeky wink and a twinkle in its eye.
The non-stop neurotic cabaret is moving to the opium-den-like environs of Charlie’s, bringing the beautiful dancers of Manchester town the best in ultra-shock electro, classic acid, velvet draped goth, party punk funk, pouting pop and bleeding edge electronic weirdness.
