I was born in London, England and relocated to Toronto, Canada at 9 years of age.
I was drawn to hip hop at a young age, listening the radio into the late late hours of the night reciting along with the lyrics.
My Uncle lived in Queens, NY and I would go there for the summers and was open off the energy and the birth place of hip hop. I have been a writer since I was a kid, landing first creative writing award in grade 8! I starting writing rhymes and poetry in my pre-teens and started performing in Toronto at Poetry shows and in New York at Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the late 90's. Soon the accapella rhymes started evolving into songs and there you have it.
After a few chance meetings at a Zulu Nation conference in 99', I decided to move to New York after being embraced by key players in the underground hip hop movement there. I learned alot about the nature of the biz, the game...kept my focus on the music and stayed on the path of creative non-compromise. I currently collab with some of the best in my book! They say home is where your Uma (Mother, Heart) is, i'm now back in Toronto working on a record which will feature some of my favourite producers. Look out for the first single July 09.
