In 2002, after years of writing, recording, cyphering, and shaping his craft, Toronto-based emcee Nilz The Unclean hooked up with long-time collaborator and friend Lupo Tha Butcha to record an album under the moniker Soundproof. For several years, Soundproof enjoyed steadily rising success and infamy. They soon hooked up with the multi-talented Kostaki to make the group a trio, and quickly climbed their way from the bottom up, leaving Torontos underground circuit in an asphyxiated frenzy. Theyve been featured on the 5th Element mixtapes, Money Wont Stop Music mixtapes, and the wildly successful Blunt Roaches CDs. But seasons change, and Soundproof has since disbanded. In its place, arose a complete headfuck of a group known as Minds Long Lost. The duo consists of Nilz, as well as Bah, one of the illest lyricists/beatboxers and spitfire rappers to hit the streets of Toronto in years. With some of Torontos best, and most diverse producers Business & Century Sam aka/Soul For Hire, as well as Young Robertson of Corrupted Nostalgia behind the boards, they have spent most of 2006 holed up in the Soul For Hire studio recording their debut album. Bahs Blunt Roaches vol. 1 CD, and Nilzs Blunt Roaches vol. 2 CD both moved over 1000 copies each on the streets of Toronto alone, over the course of a couple short months after their release dates. Earlier in 2006, Bah did a short tour of the U.K., showcasing his arsenal of gritty, heartfelt, raw rhymes on an international scale. With a record about to drop, a summer full of shows all over Toronto, and a full out winter tour of Southern Ontario on the horizon, MLL are poised to break big in 2007. Dont sleep!!
