Candle in a Jam Jar Alone in The City Easy Come Easy Go Road To Penzance Redline Deadline Day Maybe I Will Dance For The Roses Daughter of The Forest After The Storm Copper and Tin
Hi folks
This is me and my music. I have been singing, playing the guitar and writing songs for over 30 years but have only just got round to recording!
In the late 60's/early 70's I sang around the Bristol folk scene and was a resident singer in the legendary Bristol Troubadour in Waterloo Street, Clifton. I worked for an agency performing in clubs and pubs in the Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire areas. I also spent a lot of time singing in the folk clubs around Cornwall, including Pipers Folk Club at Botallack.
These days I can often be found on Sundays at Wheal Dream Folk Club near Helston and Tuesday nights at The Cadgwith Cove Inn at Cadgwith near The Lizard.
Both of my albums were recorded in 2007 and each represents different phases in my music. Both were recorded at The VIP Lounge in Penzance.
Candle in a Jam Jar is the end product of many years of writing and several of the songs are associated with The Forest of Dean and Bristol. The song "Candle in a Jam Jar" is a tribute to my Gran who sang in "smoking concerts" for sick miners and to my Dad who as a boy carried a candle in a jam jar to light the way through the forest for my Gran and seven kids!
After the Storm features some of the more recent songs I have written. Many of these songs have a Cornish flavour, reflecting my love of the land beyond The Tamar. I guess you could say my songs are "tales from the forest to the sea" - a journey from the beautiful and ancient woodlands Forest of Dean, across the two rivers of Severn and Wye, along the muddy River Avon and across The Tamar to the magnificent rugged beauty of Cornwall
I hope you enjoy my songs and if you would like to buy either album they are both available from my web site starry sky MySpace Layouts Gallery! Create Your Own Layout Here!

As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
