Inspired by the Motown and Factoy Record labels, Sounds Of The Suburbs Records was set up by Mike TV in Jan 2009 to release the 2nd Beats For Beginners album. Along the way he has signed a handful of brilliant new acts

The label started off as an alternative club music night in 2006. Based upstairs in a big old pub in the suburbs of south Manchester in Chorlton UK by musician/djs Owen Rankin (Chips Records/Stazi) & Mike TV. The night was a success and got pretty popular til some idiot bought out the pub in 2007 and gutted it out of its shabby chic splendour and shut us down during a Doves dj guest set.

Owen is now a full time Poker player and Mike has turned the brand into a record label to release his former Faith & Hope Records band Beats For Beginners on and signed a handful of interesting new acts along the way (Kid Machine, T.G Elias) helping out on the label are his friends Mark (Kid Machine) Wilkinson and Ben Gretton, son of late legendary all round nice bloke Rob Gretton (Hacienda/New Order/Joy Division boss).
