SOUNDtheCHARGE! playing brand new song, "OVERSHIELD" Innovation and solidarity are the focal points of their music, and their talent shines through with every song they write. Brothers Jack and Trevor have been playing together since ages 8 and 6 (respectively). Lead guitarist Lee Johnson came into the picture just 3 years later in 2000. South of Nowhere, an alternative jam band, was born from this lineup along with rhythm guitar player Wilkes Poteete. After releasing the debut cd and nearly finishing work on the second release, Wilkes decided to leave the band to pursue other things. This change had a domino effect, and the band decided to shift genres to a more focused, and melodic sound. New songs were written, changes were made to some of previously tracked demos, and a new found sense of professionalism took over the band. After picking up friend and bassist David Broyles, Sound the Charge was born, a phoenix from the ashes of South of Nowhere, something much more powerful and much more dynamic than the band ever thought possible. And they're here to take over the world.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a link to the video for a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
