Sound Up is an a cappella quintet from the city of Akron, Ohio. Mixing together the styles of R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Pop into a cappella singing, they write, record, and perform their own original music and arrangements. Starting in January of 2004 as the septet "Seven Stacked", the four remaining founding members (Phil Anderson, Doug Larsen, Nick Harper and Spencer Davis) started singing covers with their friends Ryan Jordan, Pat Powers and Jaron LeGrair. After the departure of LeGrair, the sextet continued singing, recording the cd's "Clash Dismissed" and "Seven Days of Christmas". After the Christmas CD, released in December of 2005, Powers and Jordan split from the group, and the remaining four reformed a group with Brandon Morton, another graduate of Firestone High School. With a new sound and completely new music, the newly named "Sound Up" is a fresh blend of a wide mix of style, musicality and personality. Look for a Sound Up performance near you in the future.
