Sounds Like
A big bowl of hard rock with punk drizzled all over it and sprinkles of funk & blues on top
Sour Boy is a hard blues, funk and rock trio from Jeffersonville, Vermont. Formed back in 2007, the band has recorded two full length LP albums and played venues around Vermont such as Higher Ground, 242 Main and Nectar's. Each member of the band brings their own personality to the work, and it shows on stage, exchanging an energy not seen from many bands. Sean's guitar playing brings back the likes of Hendrix, Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, while Devry and Kevin hold a rhythm section reminiscent of Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker of Cream. The band's sophomore album "Hot Off the Grill" delivers a new level of musicianship from Sour Boy and will be available for purchase very soon. Sour Boy carries an all for one, one for all attitude, meaning our stage is your stage, so always feel free to come up and dance with us. We have played everything from big time venues to playing on steep backyard hills for birthday bashes, we'll certainly play for you anywhere. A musical revolution is coming...
Here's what people are saying about Sour Boy:
"Sour Boy are also from Vermont – they boast a Sublime-like attitude, and you know? Their recordings certainly deliver. Sour Boy successfully creates a rough-around the edges confidence I want from a rock trio."
-The Deli Magazine
"Introducing what Rush Angel would later confirm to be
the evening's informal bass player dress-code of huge T-shirts and
cosmic basketball shorts, Sour Boy first struck me as a goof-ball
version of the ska-punk trio format popularized by Sublime in the
early nineties. But as the band exchanged the thick upbeats of the
song I walked in on for the thick, frictive guitar which screams
"power trio," it occurred to me that I had already been fooled. We
were no longer in Bradley Nowell territory, nor even that of Jack
White, but seemed, instead, to be drifting rather rapidly toward
something like Cream or, even hairier, MC5..."

Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings isn’t just a live sound
recording studio. Located in a 200 year
old 3 bedroom bed and breakfast style farmhouse on 40 acres in Wolcott,
Vermont, the project studio of NBSR offers great rates, a relaxed atmosphere,
and the seclusion needed to lay down those most righteous of tracks. And just like the mobile unit, there is never
an initial mixing charge at Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings.
