So Who Are You?
I am a perpetual work in progress, but as I savor the process I'm not complaining. I am a socially conscious, expression-sustained individual who has chosen to undertake the task of saving the world (or at least pursuing the ideal if for no other reason than for the sake of pursuing the ideal.) and reflecting through a variety of visually expressive means with the intent to inform and inspire. I have an awful memory and a trusting heart. When I was young I wanted to be an artist, when I got into art school I wanted to be a great artist and now I just want to be myself. I'm currently participating in an awesome program called the Rainy Day Brush-Off. The RDBO is an annual event held by the Water Quality Forum that engages artists in an environmental education capacity to raise money for the Water Quality Forum. You can see some examples on here, but the whole Shabam can be found HERE. You can vote for your favorite barrel at the Water Quality Forum website. Barrels will be on display all around the City of Knoxville, Knox County and the Town of Farragut and then will be Auctioned off on Ebay from May 16-25th.
I know where coming from. I came back form Montana back in 2006 because my parents had medical issues. They are doing better now though. I hope things work out. Merry Christmas
most of the artwork i do recently has just been examples for the kiddos....i need to spend time on my own work. i have been getting into photography though!
things sound great! glad to hear that you're still doing the art thing. i couldn't get my shit together and decided to take a year off to figure out what i really wanted to do with my life. but i still intend to finish my art degree since i'm sooooooo close (like 3 or 4 classes, might as well, yeah?). but it's just not my passion, and i don't think it ever truly was. :( just a hobby i'm good at, and i want to keep it that way. i feel good helping people, so maybe something will pan out. but all in all, everything is slowly coming together! you in clarksville?
Hope it works out! We've been so lucky over the years that I've been involved with SOCM to have great organizers. They really are the glue that holds the whole statewide org. together and keeps us on track on the local level.

Military is good, I'm heading to Cosovo at the end of this year, and ill be there for a year.. so that'll be weird, I heard its really cold there, so thats better than Iraq, i hate the heat... Mississippi, Lousiana, and Georgia were bad enough.. Civilian life is ok, very boring at times, but I'm occupying myself by reading and working out, so its ok.. how about you? still going to join the peacecorps this year? hows the marriage thing going?
