Influences
Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, North Mississippi Allstars, Widespread Panic, Allman Brothers, Greatful Dead, all the good people at Fat Possum Records, and how could we ever forget all the great musicians on Beale Street that showed us what the blues was really about.
Sounds Like
Standin in the middle of the crossroads where Memphis meets Dallas and drinks with New Orleans just to fall in love with Helena, but lives in Little Rock to be in the middle of it all......
South 61 is the result of the wrong things happening to the right people at just the right time. After a few years of great intentions and a little "Stole From Blues", South 61 came together with the idea of bringing the Delta sound back to Central Arkansas. Yet with influences ranging from Stevie Ray Vaughn to R.L. Burnside to Pink Floyd, South 61 has begun changing into what you hear today. But we haven't forgot where we came from, and we'll never forget the steps we took that got us here.
Come out and walk with us. We'll meet you at the Crossroads.
