Information: South Connections "AztecS - The Lost Empire" presentation was a grand success for 2008 with our band winning the Best Historical Band category & placing 2nd overall for best mas band at Notting Hill Carnival. Also our DJs & Sound System Crew took the Soca On De Move title for best playing soca sound system on the road! These are some of the reasons we'll be celebrating big time & invite you to come along and join us as we say a BIG thank you to our SC designer, production team, masquearders, stewards, DJs & sound, engineers, drivers & staff for a job well done!!Pictures & video footage of the band on the road will be on show until midnight so arrive early to relive our Notting Hill Carnival experience & join us in a night of pride & celebration as we party "AztecS" style!
Caribbean food & drinks will also be on sale.

We have a mas camp and a launch party at which you can see the designs for the upcoming Carnival season. People come and look at the designs, hear the music and meet the masqueraders at the South Connections launch party and decide if they would like to play Mas with us at Notting Hill Carnival at the end of August. We bring out a
South Connections' Children's Band on August Bank Holiday Sunday
as well as the
South Connections' Adult Band on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Masqueraders pay for the material costs of their costumes but we provide BIG truck music and bus/coach transport on the day!
South Connections takes part in a variety of additional events and festivals around the UK during the year including
Margate,
Norwich and Liverpool Carnival. Please see "Upcoming Shows" section above for list of events and festivals where our beautiful band is scheduled to perform!

We also offer carnival workshops in our premises during carnival season and in schools and community centres during the rest of the year.

Our 2007 presentation “De Journey NOW Start” is one of remembrance. It takes us through various stages of slavery. These stages are the roots of slavery, the benefactors from its existence, the impact that it had on not just the slaves but history itself and finally the joyous celebration in recognition of the achievements of these slaves and their descendants.

SOUTH CONNECTIONS says a hearty thank you to our Designer, Masqueraders, Stewards, Production Team, Helpers, DJ Team, Sound System Engineers, Drivers & Sponsors who all contributed towards the grand success of our 2007 presentation "De Journey NOW Start". We came 2nd in the Children's category & 3rd in the Adult's category for Notting Hill Carnival 2007, so well done to all those involved!! We could have done even better if we were able to get to the judging zone before night fall!! Hopefully the problem with long unnecessary hold-ups will be resolved for next year 2008 as we come even bigger & better, bringing beautiful and enjoyable Mas with great jump-up road music to the streets of Notting Hill! Once again many thanks & well done to all SC members who contributed!
