Southend Fringe festival is returning next summer from the 4th-26th June, to complement the already successful and vibrant Southend Festival run by South East Essex College. Like Edinburgh and Brighton Fringes our Fringe is un-curated, which means that anyone with a good idea and the dedication to make it happen can put on their own event and get involved! Registration is open now and closes at the end of March 2010.
For full details of how to get involved in the 2010 fringe festival please go to http://www.southendfringe.co.uk. We charge £20 for a one-off event and £35 for an events which cross several days, and this money goes towards us producing brochures advertising all the events and putting on our own events, which is a great chance for us to plug everyone's shows and hopefully get you a good audience. We are also selling advertising space in our brochures, starting this year from just £5. See the website for details.
Information on the main festival can be found at http://www.southendfestival.co.uk. PLEASE FRIEND US or join our mailing list or forum on the main site to be kept up to date with information, whether you want to take part, advertise in our programme, or simply come along next June and have fun!

The boarded shops on York Rd have been transformed into a street art gallery. Artists - but also passers by - are invited to contribute their remembrance related work. The boards will be repainted by the end of the month, but the spontaneity of the project inspired its initiator, Christine Robinson, who says she’ll now become a street artist. YOU CAN GET INVOLVED TOO:
