"I saw Southern Death Threat at the Bourbon in Vancouver and was blown away !" ..Chad Kroeger- Lead Singer .. Guitarist Nickelback.. .. .. Southern Death Threat was formed in 2005 by guitarist.. songwriter Brennan Eyles... .. Eyles recruited his old buddy Scott McCargar (Bif Naked, Age of Electric), one of the best rock drummers in Vancouver to lay the huge beats in SDT... .. SDT is a hard hitting groove metal band that can play the heavy stuff and quickly tone it down to southern rock... .. After a few lineup changes and lawsuits the band is back with a vengeance.. " It was a blessing having changed members cause our new guys kick ass." says Eyles. It didn't take long to find a new singer. Brennan and Scotty quickly went to work . " We auditioned 15 singers within two weeks of KG's departure from SDT." says Eyles. SDT eventually found Nick Oszinski ( Among The Betrayed ) . " Nick came in and blew the doors off us. He could sing melodic and heavy, reminded me of Phil Anselmo meets Layne Stayley" says Eyles. " He was a great guy who wanted to rock out with us without the fucking drama of being some clown pre-Madonna, god knows we had enough of that crap" says Eyles... SDT drummer Scotty Mc Cargar brought in Howie Hammer ( Autoswitch , Britt Black) to lay the bass.. " Howie showed up wearing Iron Maiden shoes and got the gig right away" ," He is an awesome musician who follows the riffs and is a quick learner" says Eyles.. " This fucking kid rules!".. .. Currently conquering the Vancouver metal scene with an explosive live show, the big machine kept rolling in 2007 with an appearance in the new Steven Seagal movie "Killswitch".. The scene: SDT is playing a bar in Memphis when Seagal comes to look for a Serial Killer. SDT has the track "Rusty" featured in the movie... .. SDT is working with songwriter Jeff Johnson ( Jet Black Stare ) and multi juno nominated producer Joey Moi ( Nickelback, Hinder , Daughtry) on their new songs. " Joey and Jeff have helped so much" says Eyles.. " They came to our rehearsal and really pushed us " . The new single " Truth" is lead-off single to the new album... .. Things really stated to heat up when they met local CFOX DJ Todd Hancock. "Todd is a great supporter and good friend of the band. He's helped us the most and I'm forever grateful to him." says Eyles. SDT is managed by "He Shoots He Scores Entertainment Inc." based out of Vancouver (comprised of Vancouver Radio Veteran Todd Hancock and Theory of a Deadman's guitarist Dave Brenner); production with Engineer/Mixer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Rush, Slayer, etc...).. .. SDT had a solid performance at Xfest 3 in Aug 2009, have shared the stage with Our Lady Peace, Marianas Trench, Powerman 5000, Drowning Pool, Zimmers Hole, Sloan, Rev Theory and many great local acts... .. Bottom line ... Southern Death Threat is a force to be reckoned with... .. SDT's new album "Russian Roulette" coming out this fall....... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
