Ever since the first time he heard the single Real Big by Mannie Fresh and Lil Jon’s creative production style, SOUTHERN KYD began dreaming about what it would be like to create original music for the masses. He loved the sound of Mannie Fresh and wanted to create of a similar sound. As he began to nourish his love for developing music, his classmates made it difficult for him as they laughed at the thought of him becoming a success in the music industry.

During college he enrolled in a music course, where the staff was able to teach him the tools that he needed to make his dream become a reality. "He began the course with little experience and has developed into a student with huge potential. He shows a lot of talent through the creation of his music and could do very well if he continues to develop at the rate he has. He had an excellent attitude towards his studies and characteristics of someone that could go a long way in the game," says his former tutor, J . Bonn. While continuing his college education, he began to create a buzz among some Record Executives and A&Rs, who were amazed at the music that he was creating while having only a short period of learning time invested in the music production game.

After graduating from college, he was introduced to a new self-sufficient tool utilized for music marketing that would prove to help him reach the level of success he dreamt about years prior...MySpace.

As southern hip hop mover and shaker, SOUTHERN KYD, broke successfully into the music industry utilizing his production skills, his creative style has helped him to get noticed by many people in and out of the industry from A&Rs to college students through his street brand IM DEEP IN THE SOUTH.
