CODE BLUE has joined many other 'blues artists' in pushing the envelope which contains the definition of 'blues.' Walter Trout, one of our favorite performers, has said, 'We need to widen the definition of the blues." If blues is roughly defined as a kind of music that shows hurt and pain, and maybe how to laugh at that, how to distract yourself from the pain, then there are a whole basket full of blues songs out there. Songs like 'Born on the Bayou' may not be considered 'blues' in a pigeon-holed definition put out by blues officionados, but to us, it fits and many other songs fit the wide spectrum of 'blues.' Primarily we are musicians who play music that contains 'energy.' We want people to dance, lose control, and fall over our monitors. Cutting loose is what we all need to do to get past the daily drudgery of some of our jobs and some our personal situations. Because of this wide spectrum of diversity, blues and blues-based music is a very popular type of music in our pop culture. Songs containing 'blues' not only see more action in jukeboxes, but REMAIN in them longer than most of their counterparts. More of the same evidence can be heard as a result of the resurgence of rock radio these days. Mixed in with Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Rolling Stones are everyone's favorites by the Allman Brothers, ZZ Top and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Sharing the same rack in the CD stores is B.B. King, Albert Cummings, Walter Trout, Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy. This is why The Code Blue Band, which has members from Columbus, Yellow Springs, Marysville, and Urbana, is worth seeing again and again. We are crowd-reactive and ready to please--some would call us a 'whore band', because we try to please many people, but there's no real fun in doing this if we don't connect with the audience and have a good time with them.
SILAS BUCKLEY:
He was a Frequent opener at the Blues Station which is now closed, but you can catch him in and around Columbus and now at the Southern Ohio Blues Festival.
He has opened for such great blues artists as Debbie Davies,Sean Costello, Tab Benoit, Holmes Brothers, Anthony Gomes,Kenny Neal and Smokin Joe Kubek.
STONE JOHNSON & THE BLUES REVUE:
Headed by Rob Husak Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter, Stones shows are high energy and full of traditional, modern and original blues music. Along with Smokin' Joe Halasz on piano and Blues Harp, Stone Johnson blows away their audiences wherever they play. With originals such as "Lay you Down" and "All Fired up", Stone shows that they have what it takes to stand out in the Blues world. Melodic and intense guitar work, along with a killer band, Stone Johnson takes blues music to the present day with a old style attitude and a modern day taste.

About me: Southern Ohio Blues Festival 2008 )
Thank you for stopping by the Festival myspace site. in the recent years we have kept the dream alive for another successful Blues festival, but for now, it will have to remain a dream of ours.
As you all know, the economy is very weak and getting worse, even on a global scale. Recession is unfortunately a word back in the american vocabulary with "Depression" looming. Due to these developments, we have suspended the festival. We hope that if the economy gets better, we may be able to get it together again for 2011.
At this time, we are no longer accepting any submissions or requests from artists to play the festival. At such time that we may start again, we will announce when we will begin again.
We ask that you still support us and continue to send us friend requests, and thank you to everyone who supported us and sent us requests and submissions.
Until the day..........

Our new album is out on Friday, May 1st, and nobody anywhere has it yet. If you buy only one the price is $12. But if you buy more than one, the price is less than $9 each. So buy 10. It will cost you about $90, but you'll be able to sell them to your friends for $12 each and make a profit.
I had my marketing cap on about a week ago and with all the bad news; the Taliban in Pakistan, the looming Chyrsler bankruptcy, the new flu epidemic, etc; I decided to go with a more optimistic theme for this summer in a bumper sticker (old school). I think its working. There are currently a little more than 50 cars in the Branson area sporty this lil’ beauty. (Yes, I comped them) What do you think?
