From the depths of the Velfjordian forests, a scream is echoing the mountainsides.... sounds like...: "HEEELL YEAH".. accompanied by a killer guitar riff manufactured by Rickey Medlocke... eeh.. Yep! That's right! Southern rock- one of the greater goods provided by americans- can now be heard live and kicking in one of the freezing outposts of the world: Velfjord and Brønnøysund, Nordland County, Norway.
Southern Tribute must be seen as a compliment, and as the name indicates, a tribute to the music written and performed by original bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top, to name a few.
Musically the band can be described as a mixture of blues, country and hard rockin', which, of course, also is a pretty good recepy for southern rock.
The band was formed during the winter of 2006 after an initiative from guitarist Børge. There was little or no arguing amongst the others that southern rock was something we really wanted to do. Hell yeah!
