South Pointe is a group consisting of two members, Buddy Boi and ANT, are sure fire country lyristist with a blue collar street concience of the every occupation we call "The Soul and Struggle". Buddy Boi states, "That's the theme we trying to roll with aint no gimic, or a dance to it, it's just real. That's all South Cak iz, hell the whole bible belt,'Soul and Struggle'. " A-N-T says, "This is all we got you can't do nothing around here but work or hustle. We don't have a big bussiness ventures, or huge job market. We got to get it how it come to us. That's if I gotta work this textile job the next fourthy years,or stand on the corner and sell what ever I can get my hands on.
Though, inspired by the likes of ..8-ball & MJG, Mobb Deep, Tha Dogg Pound, and of course Outkast, Goodie Mob band, the whole Dungeion Fam. South Pointe's most influence comes from locals such as F.L.A.T.T.I.E.S. and NativeWoodz. Buddy Boi states, "Man i can remember when cats like Ice Cube and Treach(of Naughty by Nature) was the truth to me. I used to try rehearse my rhymes and flip words just like Treach, but the stuff they would spit about I couldn't relate to but respected it. When groups came out like FLATTIES and NativeWoodz it was over. I looked at them like Naughty by Nature but better. Not to knock them cats cause they won grammy's, but they didn't look or sound like us, NativeWoodz and F.L.A.T.T.I.E.S did."
Now ready to plant their on mark, South Pointe(short for 'The South iz on Pointe') are ready to drop the long waited LP 'Soul Cinema'. "Its a motion picture of soul and struggle,"states A-N-T. "We make music for the hustlers and the cats working 9 to 5, cause everybody aint selling dope round here. It's real blue collar down here. Anybody that made a little change ain't giving back they left."
