Southsea Animal Action are a new animal rights campaigning group based in Southsea in Hampshire.
We campaign against all aspects of animal cruelty:
As supporters of SARC's fur free south campaign, we are active against the fur trade in Portsmouth and the local area.
We also actively campaign against restaurants which sell foie gras (diseased duck/goose liver created by violent forced feeding) the manufacture of which is banned in the UK and most of Europe. We have been so successful that no local restaurant we know of now sells it (dozens previously did) so we are now traveling out to Winchester and Chichester to campaign there. We are currently doing demonstrations at Portsmouth Greyhound Stadium most Saturdays highlighting the horrific cruelty involved in the industry. If you wish to come to a demo please email us with the address below. Unfortunately all of this cruelty is licensed to Portsmouth City Council. We also promote vegetarian and veganism as well as campaigning on dozens of other issues such as vivisection.
We have also organised a small Cruelty-Free festival at St Judes Church, Kent Road, Southsea, Portsmouth on Saturday 25th August between 11-5 everyone is welcome to attend.

Hello ~ thank you for being a friend of Moonwarriors. 800 dogs & cats are killed every hour in the US, often by inhumane methods such as gassing or heart sticking. This cruel disposal of homeless & stray animals is paid for by your taxes. Sponsors of petitions promoting no-kill alternatives have shown that it would be more cost effective & humane to fund spay-neuter programs, adoption schemes & sanctuaries.

Details: 1 Of 2 Stray Black Dogs Spent Months Trying to Rescue Killed:
The young male dog was killed by redneck in white truck but not hit & run accident. Dogs were standing still in road, didn't run out suddenly, evening daylight. Not typical 'abuse' but unless bastard that plowed down dog was blind..intentional.
Live on isolated country rd...but some yahoos are capable of such cruelty after a few beers. I was outside & saw everything. Just filled dishes w/ food & water. Dogs came from field across rd. to eat, but always hesitate until I go back inside.
Driver didn't slow down or blow horn. Death wasn't instant...agonizing yelps haunt me. I'm investigating to find driver...take legal action. Leaving an innnocent animal to die in a ditch across rd. like garbage.
Tried to save him but...it's all I can bear to say for a while. Felt I owed you an explanation for my rambling letter last week. XXOO
Hello Southsea Animal Action Something terrible happened to one of the 2 black stray dogs I was trying to rescue & I witnessed it. Of course it was a human being's disgusting careless & wreck less actions.. The youngest one, the skinny one that was beginning to get friendlier & was gaining weight is dead.
I have been literally a shut in since it happened late Tues. evening August 25. I can't eat & have to take pills to go to sleep because I keep replaying the nightmare in my head. I'm angry, heartbroken, crying shaking & inconsolable. I'm so pissed off that I want revenge, someone to pay for his death & every other hurt, abused or dead animal when caused by human inflicted cruelty or carelessness whether accident or intentional...I've had it.
Now his best friend is alone, I saw him twice but he looks lonely & frightened. My husband told me life goes on & I must carry on & care for all the other dogs & cats we saved but it's not that easy for me. Ever since I was a little girl a hurt or lost animal would tear me apart inside, I'd lie in bed & cry for days when 'the dogcatcher' came for a stray my parents wouldn't allow me to keep. I can't help it, wish I was stronger & don't know how to shake my deep sadness for this animals misfortune & early grave right now.
I will tell you all who cared enough to give me encouragement when I thought I lost them a few weeks ago more details when I can stop crying long enough & gather the strength to discuss the horrific details.
Thanks for your kindness, at least I know there are some good people in this rotten cruel world we have made for animals the 'lesser important species' in our superior justification of our abuses of them.
