    Join us for the 2009 Southside Film Festival: June 16 - 20
    Opening Night features a party with local and visiting filmmakers at Home and Planet (25 E. 3rd Street), followed by our opening night screening, Metropolis at Packer Chapel on the Lehigh Campus. Don't miss your opportunity to see this Fritz Lang Silent Film Classic, beautifully restored by Kino Films and accompanied by Valley favorites Sports for Kin performing their original score, live! This unique event offers the original film viewing experience with a modern twist. Be there!

    looks like it's going to be another awesome year for the film fest- happy 5th! wish i could be there! miss you all like crazy. i'm going to take my friends to see transformers just so i can be like 'OMG OMG THAT'S MY TOWN WHAT!!!'
    just got back into town from new orleans, and austin, texas- it was awesome!! this friday i'm goin to chicago too.. summer's approach has us all restless here in portland. i have some funny stories to share when i'm home briefly in august, til then take care and keep rockin the shit like you do so well. can't wait to see you!!

Besides an impressive list of Independent Films, Southside Film festival offers several unique events to round out the Festival experience.

Opening Night Party: Tuesday, June 16th
6:30 -8:00PM - Home and Planet, 25 E. 3rd Street, Bethlehem. Free - Open to the public.
Followed by procession to Packer Chapel (on Lehigh Campus) led by the City of Bethlehem Bagpipe Band featuring Pipe Major James B. Ruhf for Opening Night Screening of Metroplis.
(Entrada/Admission: $10)

The Zoo Story "Fact is better left to fiction..." (Midnight Show): Tuesday, June 16

Cigar Box Guitar Jam/Concert: Friday, June 19
Concert/jam session featuring Concert/jam session featuring Musicians Shane Speal with One-String Willie and Gerry Thompson at Wildflower Cafe, 316 S. New Street.
Time: 9:00PM (Approximate - Following 7:00PM screening of 'Songs Inside the Box' at Victory Firehouse.)

"Stingray Sam" Written & Directed by Cory McAbee

A dangerous mission reunites STINGRAY SAM with his long lost accomplice, The Quasar Kid. Follow these two space-convicts as they earn their freedom in exchange for the rescue of a young girl who is being held captive by the genetically designed figurehead of a very wealthy planet. This musical space-western miniseries is designed for small screens and perfect for screens of all sizes.
