To all our family, friends, fans, bands we've played with, ex-band mates, and supporters of Southwell/Slapdash of any kind, we would all like to extend a big thanks for everything you've done for us over the past 4 years. It's been a great time overall and it's contained experiences that many people can only dream about having. That being said, you can probley guess what's coming next.
We have reached a mutual agreement that it would be in the best interest of our friendships to call it quits playing music together. On Sunday, July 30th, a meeting was held to address to everyone that Kyle and I would be leaving the band for several reasons. Our main concern was for our education because with all the time constraints of being in college, we felt that it was more important for us to focus primarily on school rather than on the band. Also at the meeting, it was discussed that more recently, the band has brought more frustration and arguments than fun times, which began to cause some problems between our friendships. Everyone agreed that our friendships are more important than anything else, so why jeopardize them? I can confidently say that we are all going to be much better friends, and much happier individually.
The downside to this is that we hate to disappoint anyone by disbanding, but the music we've made will remain on MySpace for everyone to listen to. We have some extra demos and EP's so if anyone would like one, just ask and we'll get it to you free of chargel
If you'd like to know what we'll be doing now, here's a quick glance at everyone:
Me(Tim)- I'll be heading out to Millersville University this fall with 40+ credits earned from MontCo to earn the privledge of being called a Meteorologist (and no, I don't want to be on TV).
Kyle- He'll be continuing his pursuit of a bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting from Villanova University, and of course he'll be playing guitar and watching the Juggernaut.
Bill and Jeff- They'll be roommates for their upcoming Junior year at St. Joes, and they also plan on forming a new band together.
Nick- He'll continue playing guitar, singing, and tearing shit up with Averley while attending Chestnut Hill College.
If you'd like to contact any of us, the links to our personal MySpace pages can be found on the list of band members on Southwell's MySpace.
