Southwest of Chicago is me.... Daniel Thompson. I never really liked using my name on an album. I love the band Chicago. Growing up in San Diego CA, I was southwest of that great city, hence the name. I have a Bachelor's degree in Church music and have worked in ministry roles for about 12 years. I play Bass trombone, piano and sing. I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful children: Ella and Jake. I have been a Christain for 20 years now.... wow has it been that long? My ministry is to existing Christians. I feel that we have focused too long on the wrong things. We focus on the battles the world sets before us: Prayer in schools, abortion, etc. Not that these are not noble things to fight for, but they are skirmishes that distract us from the larger war, which is the war for souls. We are supposed to point the way to Christ, to be Him to the world. As a result of our focusing on these issues rather than Christ we have turned inward, failing to notice the lost among us.... sometimes failing even to treat them with basic humanity, let alone Christ's love.
