Sozay was born Emmet Allen Flores on September 18, 1977 at Cedars Sinai Medical Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. First introduced to hip-hop music in 1988, he never possessed the desire, or even thought it possible, to pursue a career as an emcee. But in late 1997 while incarcerated at a federal detention center on drug charges, he began writing basic rhyme schemes simply to pass time, not knowing that he was in fact embarking on what was to be the first of many songs written over the course of the next 10 years. Immediately people were drawn to his ability to add imagination and creativity to his lyrical content, but above all else it seemed his venomous punch-lines and versatile flow was what seemed to captivate listeners. Sozay is able to spin a web of encrypted verbiage over each track like few others can. Riddled with metaphors and similes, each verse proves to be the work of a true craftsman.
