The Royal We is a project of the SCUMBUCKET bass guitarist Dylan Kennedy. The Royal We first released a 6-song EP in October 2004 titled A New Sunrise which was released on RAKETEmusik/Rough Trade.
October 2005 saw the release of The Royal We full-length debut album, again on RAKETEmusik/Rough Trade. This was followed by a support tour for the British band ELBOW.
In February 2007, The Royal We shot on-set for a short film titled "LANDGANG" which is due to be released on the French/German TV channel ARTE. LANDGANG will feature 6 songs from The Royal We.
LANDGANG premiered on 28th July 2007 at the ARSENAL film theatre at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany at 1900 hrs. and was screened on ARTE in 2008.
A new album has been written but, unfortunately, the band has been unable to sustain the long-distance relationship between the UK and Germany. Therefore, a decision was made to split the line up from the previous album and tours.
Meanwhile, Dylan has worked on a new project, Volkssport - a German Pop experiment which has some groovy beats and simplistic, yet catchy tunes. Check it out at:

Dylan has recently been devoting more time to SCUMBUCKET. The band has been busy re-recording its debut album, which is due to be released soon under the new title HELIOPHOBIA.
Scumbucket will be hitting the recording studios again in September 2009 to record a complete new album which should be released during the course of 2010.
SCUMBUCKET will also be playing at the VISIONS Magazine 20th Anniversary Party in Dortmund on 30th October 2009!
