My interests are history and politics (more like an obsession), writing music, and lots of nerd gaming. I sing and play rock piano (not keyboard! piano!) and I've written about a dozen songs that I like and a hundred more that I hate. Maybe I should post some of them here...
I'm a huge writer of fiction, and am always working on one project or another. I've been studying martial arts for a while (although my cage-fighting days are behind me...think I'm kidding??) and when the weather permits, I can hike and mountain bike until my legs fall off.
I love TEAM FORTRESS 2!!!
Music
A rather eclectic assortment from the nineties. Tonic, Coldplay, Radiohead, Groove Armada, Less Than Jake, BB Mac, John Mayer, Travis, Train, 311, Sister Hazel, Electrasy, Sheryl Crow, Enya, Tori Amos, Switchfoot, Paul Oakenfold, Daft Punk, Elton John, Everclear, Kings of Convenience, Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Crystal Method, Sarah McLachlan, the Cranberries, Ace of Base, and the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge!
Movies
Children of Men, Aliens, Jurassic Park, Memento, The Count of Monte Cristo, Silence of the Lambs, Pi, Jacob's Ladder, Apocalypse Now, Seven, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Full-Metal Jacket, Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, War of the Worlds, The Matrix (the first one), X2, anything by Quentin Tarantino, Forrest Gump, Batman Begins, Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, Terminator 2, and a handful of anime movies.
Television
It used to be all PBS and CSPAN, but ever since I met Rosie, I've been watching a lot more TV. This is big change for me, but let me tell you, shows on DVD are the best. No commercials! My recent favorites: THE WEST WING, ANGEL--which comes with an enormous and unexpected recommendation--THE OC, LOST, and 24. Also favorites: The Shield, Law and Order, Justice League, Batman/Superman, Invader Zim, King of Queens, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, South Park, Chapelle's Show, Star Trek the Next Generation, and X-Files. Animation is GREAT! Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, and Naruto!
Books
Well, I don't read as voraciously as I used to, but I can still devour a book in an afternoon as long as it's by Piers Anthony, Michael Crichton, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert A. Heinlein, Lee Stanley Robinson, Larry Niven, or Terry Goodkind (well, at least until the 5th book in the Sword of Truth series, and each subsequent and even MORE terrible book after that). I'm a huge sucker for history, so I love books like Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden, anything by Stephen Ambrose (especially Citizen Soldier--what a fine report on the US Army during WWII!), and a few odd titles like Afghanistan by Vladislav Tamarov, Flyboys by James Bradley, and the ubiquitous Time Magazine goes to War. Harry Potter is for KIDS! I would NEVER dream about going to school with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and the wonderful magical adventures we might share...
Heroes
My mom and dad are my heroes. They are still married and make a great team! Mom: You are so wise! You always know what to say and what to do, and your advice has gotten me through times when I didn't think I would ever recover. I hope that I can be half the parent to my children as you were to me. My sister is also my hero, because she has got it all together like the Fonz. And my dad, too, because he's tough as nails.

Major: Psychology at the time, but psychologists are all crazy!
Clubs: Well we had a group of friends (maybe 10-20, a pretty large group) named after my friend's apartment in the TOKAY building. So we were the TOKAY kids! Our group was 1/3 nerds, 1/3 punkers, and 1/3 hippies, and we were all a bunch of crazy party animals with no respect for the law! I have NEVER been into the Greek system, so the letters below are an inside TOKAY joke. Use your imagination!

Clubs: PV! A great school with great teachers and we WHUPPED on De Anza like hardcore. Forensics team, although it was just to meet girls and drink beer when I was 16. What a friggin' rebel. It was where all the cool nerds hung out...
About me: I am a deep thinker. A philosopher. A cynic. A political junkie, and a shameless video-gamer. I am more of a homebody than a socialite, and I make friends slowly and pick them carefully. I'm taking some time off school right now to work on my thesis and tutor children 5-days-a-week (which is hands down the best job I've ever had). During the school year I am usually buried in books and homework. When it's time for entertainment, I find it at my computer or piano. I live with my beautiful fiance Rosie, and her ridiculous dog The Squee. Sacramento is a sprawly, smoggy, crowded mess, but it's got a modicum of charm that's taken me five years to find. The river is pretty nice, especially right near Sac State, there's lots of trees and parks, and all this flat land is perfect for biking. I'm poor as dirt right now, but in one year (countdown!) I'll have my Master's in History, and I can finally start pulling in some serious bucks as a professor. Then maybe I can finally finish that novel...
You Are 12% Republican
Aside from strongly believing in States-rights, you don't have much in common with the Republican party.
Who I'd like to meet: I tend to gravitate towards those who seem a little bit out of the mainstream--especially in this city, where everyone seems to frequent clubs with outrageous cover charges and drive cars they can't afford. I have changed quite a bit in past years, and highly prefer a handful of "best friends" to a gaggle of acquaintances these days. If you are weird, crazy, and smart, I want to meet you!
Your Personality Profile
You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant.
Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle.
You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs.
For you, comfort and calm are very important.
You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection.
You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong.
i hope so! i had my interview today and he said he would call me back tonight but ihavent heard from him yet :/ i told him i knew you and how wonderful of a rep you are and he said that you were one of the best! i hope i get this job!!

BHS decided they didnt like the way i took charge so often, and my harsh wording i often used. so im not really up with them anymore. I have heard good things about insurgency though

this is one place where I got my info... one of many, though I would say watch it yourself (I wouldn't say that John Ellis was the one who decided the outcome, just that he created a domino affect/effect, i never learned the difference)
OK I finally put new pictures up so you will have some stuff to laugh at.
Wish you woulda been around here when I was in the States... haven't seen you in what, 6 years? That's too long, don't you think? And I won't be back for at least another year now. :P
Hey sorry about not calling you about dinner this week, something came up at work where i had to take on more shifts...but what does next week look like for you two?
