The Space Collective!'s Blurbs |
About me:
We are the
Suburban Project for Autonomy, Community, and Equality.
We are currently looking for a new space.
The S.P.A.C.E's mission is to help embrace, unify, uplift and empower the communities within the western Chicago suburbs. We plan to achieve this goal with direct participation of the people. We’d like to demonstrate to the people that we have the power to re-structure our environment in ways that prove to be beneficial for everyone within.
Points of unity
We believe that education is the ..beginning of social change, and we wish to participate in educating and learning from the suburban community
We wish to define our own culture and not allow corporate commercialism to decide this for us.
Culture should be defined by citizens of the community. It is necessary to regain culture to link each other to a common ground.
We recognize that greed and intolerance lead to oppression and domination that dehumanize and isolate citizens from cooperative means of existence.
We believe that people should be able to express themselves freely, and not feel restricted by what are considered ‘norms of society’.
We believe that no human is illegal and that providing humanitarian aide is never illegal
The needs of families and individuals can be more effectively met within the community rather than by large institutions and corporations.
GUIDELINES
The S.P.A.C.E’s mission is to help embrace, unify, uplift, and empower communities within the Western Chicago suburbs. We will achieve this goal through the direct participation of the people
The following guidelines are values we wish to see implemented, expressed, and lived out not only here in the SPACE but within our communities. Though these values we will carry a new world in our bodies, minds and souls that will eventually birth into the free society that we all dream of.
Guidelines for participation in the Space
THE SPACE IS A DRUG FREE ZONE
The Space is here to unify the community, whereas alcohol and drugs serve to destroy our communities. The Space shares a building with other tenants, and we respect their right to breathe clean air by not smoking.
THIS SPACE IS A SAFE PLACE FOR ALL PEOPLES.
Tolerance and respect are necessary for social change. Domination and authority in any form is degrading and oppressive.
VIOLENCE IS UNACCEPTALBE WITHIN THE SPACE
Violence puts everyone at risk. There are numerous ways to solve problems while respecting people’s bodies and minds. Sexual violence, harassment, and other aggressive behaviors will not be tolerated.
PROPERTY IS THEFT, BUT AT THE SPACE IT IS COLLECTIVIZED
We ask from each according to their ability and give to each according to their need. Time, participation, money, and resources are worthy exchange for services and goods.
