-I particularly adore the "music" in laughter; especially the laughter of small children, the vulnerable, the down-trodden, and for those who have given up and decided to check out of this chicken s--- outfit just because of being totally sick of it all. Well, here's an update/newsflash...trying to get my background back contributed to the rhetoric part of this section to disappear off somewhere into cyberspace. Oh, well. Some of it needed to be updated, anyway.
I'm just a Patriot and I'm NOT a terrorist just because I am against the current foreign policy ["yee-haw is NOT a foreign policy] and have traced my heritage as a direct-line descendant of Betsy Ross [paternal grandmother's side of the family tree] and my maternal grandmother's 1 quarter Cherokee. Mix all that up with a hefty dosage of German and Irish, no marvel that when mixed with Jack Daniels, it was all but 100% guaranteed to result in significant explosion. I just watched that movie about Wounded Knee and got the ancestors within all stirred up again. I try to avoid that - oh, that's a lie. I love to blog about politics and have an opinion about all of it and have no problem sharing that with folks.
I like just about any kind of music - depends upon what kind of mood I'm in - which is expansive in terms of range. Speaking of "range"...I like being out on the range riding a horse that's been trained well. Which means treated well. I like dogs, too. Especially big dogs. I have a chocolate lab that I like more than I do most people. He probably likes more people than I do, come to think of it. But I'm trying to get over myself, which is a reason I signed on here, because there are some things I've learned in 46+years of living on this planet and one of the most glaring realities is that I've found out that "hurt people hurt people" and to not take other people's anger so personally. (My ultimate goal=not taking personally at all). My politics are liberal-very liberal. I don't drink alcohol for the simple reason it makes me break out in hand-cuffs for some reason all but 100% of the time. I don't do dope and I try to stay in physical condition so that I can at least raise my son at least through High School.
I'll wrap this section up with another thought..Being orphaned at 6, having my firstborn child die at 56 days of age and my brother getting killed by a gas tanker semi truck just a little over 2 years ago, makes me appreciate a tad bit more than the average schmoe. I would rather err on the side of an overdose of gratitude than writhe in agony because karma came knockin' on my door with the balance of the bill due for being too extravagant with (the grand illusion) of arrogance and isolation. Oh, you can bet I'll write more later...just for now all my fingers on my left hand are numb and tingling right now. So, that's all I have to say about that...to borrow from Forrest Gump.
5-29-07 After-blurp...Oh, And I have a lot of passion for journalism. The real deal - not the canned shit that the masses floating down that river in Egypt (D-Nile) buy into.
The friends I have I just haven't met before. Key search words for here for me include [but aren't limited to]...any genre of music whose last name is "Billy", the Blues, Anything to do with progressive politics i.e. people who are anything and/or all about ending this stupid, endless war we are having our name as Americans destroyed because of a spoiled rotten rich kid chimp that's hijacked the White House for nearly all of this decade of the 2000's, and basically just enjoy meeting people from anywhere and everywhere just for the sake of doing so. Like to listen to music I haven't heard before, so some of you musicians I look in your friends space and click around listening to their music and if I like what I hear, I ask to be my friend. Why? Cause I feel like it. It is still a free
country, although Sinclair Lewis did warn us some time ago that "When Fascism comes to America, it will be draped with a flag and carrying a cross..." I'm pretty pissed off about having Jesus hi-jacked by some plastic, thick-walleted neo-cons. If you're a mean-spirited person and I [inadvertantly] asked you to be my friend, my bad. I whole-heartedly believe that mean people really do suck!!
